Name: Genevieve Renault.
Gender: Female.
Age: 18.
Sexuality: Pansexual.

Personality: Genevieve is a fantastic liar. Though she likes to see it as telling half truths. The world is not black and white, it’s full of exceptions and side notes and points of views. What might seem morally wrong to someone, might be the best choice for someone else. So, she has no problems with these half truths, as long as she doesn’t have to suffer the consequences of someone else finding out.
Genevieve's grandfather likes to say that family is everything, but a strong sense of self is even better. She unknowingly lives by this rule. Family is important, but she must be able to stand by herself first. Asking for help is only a last resort.
There is an unknowable pressure to be the best she can be, to live up to her family’s legacy and help it continue on for generations more. She knows this, and works hard to make it happen.
Of course, there’s the things her grandfather must never know. Like her intentions to leave New Rome the minute somebody looks the other way. New Rome is a suffocating town, and she wants to be somewhere where nobody knows her.
In a grey world, New Rome is imperfect. Except it is not her job to fix it single handedly, but instead to survive. She is not the hero of this story.
Flaws (three or more): see above
Eye color: Blue.
Hair description: Wavy, just past shoulders, ginger.
Height: 5’8”
Skin tone: Fair
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Body structure: Lean
Other details?:

Place of Birth (city, state, country): New Rome, California, USA.
Parents: Larissa and Joseph Renault. Larissa works at Julius Caesar Memorial Hospital as a surgeon. Joseph is a lawyer in San Francisco. Joseph is a former Augur. She has an older sister, Charlotte, who was also an augur and is now at NRU.
Legacy of: Apollo (5th gen); Picus, god of woodpeckers and telling the future through birds (5th gen); Mania, goddess of ghosts and chaos (5th gen); Aquilon, god of the cold winter wind and snow (4th gen); Janus (4th gen); Porrima, goddess of the future (3rd gen); Mercury (2nd gen); Pomona, goddess of fruit trees (2nd gen); Angerona, goddess of relieving pain and sorrow (1st gen). Abilities (doesn't use energy to do):
Unlike apparently the rest of her family and ancestors, Genevieve can’t see the future. Well, at least she thinks she can’t. Because of this she tries alternative methods of future seeing, with mixed results. It’s strange though, even if she doesn’t realize it, her predictions have a way of turning out.
Slightly resistant to cold (Aquilon)
Slightly resistant to sunburns and heat (Apollo)
5% faster at running (Mercury)
Great at finding rhymes (Apollo)
Affinity for knowing the types of birds she sees (Picus)
Plants are way less likely to die on her, can last 2x as long without being cared for (Pomona)
Powers (uses energy to do):
Genevieve has minor healing abilities. She can heal minor injuries, maladies, infections, and viruses 10x per topic. She can heal medium wounds, broken bones, etc. 5x per topic. She can stabilize someone who’s been gravely hurt 1x per topic, and remove some of the pain, but she can’t fully heal it. (Angerona and Apollo)
Can remove painful memories 3x per topic. She can’t do it to herself, only to others. Extremely traumatic memories might not fully disappear. (Angerona)
Can magically unlock locks. Simple key and tumbler locks 5x per topic. Electric locks 1x per topic. (Mercury)
Can grow plants. Small plants 15x a topic, trees 5x a topic. Trees can only reach the height of 10 feet before she’s out of energy. (Pomona)
Pets (if any): none

History (four sentences or more): Your grandfather used to always say that the gods blessed your family. The renault’s have been in New Rome since 1877 and they have never left. They earn their place by adding more and more gods to an already complicated family tree, by merging with families just as old. The Renault’s are almost as old as New Rome itself. However, with that comes expectations.
You grew up in New Rome, raised by the legion from the time when you were just 10. First cohort, of course, your family has been around and in power long enough to prevent you from falling any further down the ladder. You always had your cousins around you, with blood just as rich with ichor as yours.
Your grandfather has always had big dreams. He gets that from an expectation set by his father, and his father before him. It’s nerve racking, really. You’re supposed to achieve greatness in a way that he expects you too. He’s had your future planned out before you could even walk. Charlotte is supposed to be a lawyer, you a doctor, Aspun an engineer, and so on and so forth.
Your life has always been tied to the augury. Over half the augurs since New Rome’s founding have come from the Renault line, and you were always told that you would also fill that role. Nobody ever stopped to ask if you had the gift of prophecy too, and maybe it never mattered. The role of the augur has fallen in usefulness once quests became rare. Now most augurs are political advisors. If someone does come for advice from the gods, you only need to fill the role of a fortune teller at the flea market. Give them some vague wisdom about their true love being right around the corner, and hope that it’s enough to keep them from asking questions. That isn’t to say you don’t try. You do. You live in fear of a day where you will be asked to see the future, to save the lives of others and prevent distraction. So, you stare at birds looking for omens, you plant onions hoping they’ll sprout and answer your questions correctly, you drink tea until you’re sick and stare at the leaves looking for an image from the future. You’ve even tried spilling your own blood over a pyre, but that just lead to a nasty infection you had to heal. You have plenty of bandaids, plenty of backup plans, but you know that it’s only a matter of time.
